The Compass Rose Academy sits on 800 acres of land with 100 acres currently in use, which are owned and maintained by White’s Residential & Family Services. The well-kept grounds include a softball field, ponds, woods and farmland, in addition to an indoor activity center, gym, swimming pool and weight room.

Students live in a house, or “cottage,” with up to 11 other students and a set of house parents who have the opportunity to bond with the students in their care while offering structure and guidance as residents learn personal responsibility, self-discipline and respect.

Within the cottage, students share the living area, bathroom, TV room, kitchen and recreation area. They also complete basic chores such as cooking and cleaning while also learning what it means to enjoy time together as a “family.”
